About Me
My name is Jade Anaya, I'm 23 years old. I enjoy expressing my thoughts, feelings and emotions in a creative way. So far, that has been through painting, drawing, writing and photography. My favorite is Fashion Design, as it allows me to combine both the mathematical and creative sides of myself into one whole.
I graduated college in 2024 from the University of Oregon with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Public Relations. During my senior year, I worked with local businesses and clients to develop social media campaigns, digital content, and general marketing tactics to help them reach their goals. See some of the work I did here. I gained great experience with project management, connecting with clients and setting up meetings, and establishing/ meeting tight deadlines.
FUN FACTS:
I did gymnastics from the ages 2-14, and at 7 I began competing. This is where I learned to go after my goals with a fierce attitude, and to set high standards for myself and my team.
If I could listen to one album for the rest of my life, it would be "A New Place 2 Drown" by Archy Marshall.
My favorite late night snack is frozen mango.
My favorite book is The Great Gatsby. It reminds me to stay present; it doesn't serve me to live in the past.
My favorite coping mechanism is expressing gratitude.
My fatal flaw is that I never back up my iPhone
I always wanted to be an astronaut, and if I wasn't pursuing something in a creative industry, I would probably be flying around in space, working on space station mechanics or studying planets.
In my free time, I'm either learning higher level calculus and mechanics, or painting and designing clothes.
My mom, dad, space, and Pink Floyd are some of my biggest inspirations.
When I was 18 I went to Paris for the summer completely by myself. It taught me confidence and independence at a young age. I returned to Paris the following 2 summers, and it is now my favorite place in the world. Aside from NYC, of course.
I'm hoping to find a career that leverages all of my passions and skills, and allows me to grow and explore new avenues. I enjoy learning from, and exchanging ideas with new people, and I'm ambitious to learn and try new things.

At FIT, I discovered my love for the fashion design process. My favorite parts are sewing and pattern making. Sewing puts me into a trance, and it feels like nothing can break my focus. Pattern making is where I can apply my love for math to solve equations, find slopes and study the relationships between lines to create my designs.
Pulling countless all-nighters and spending 12+ hours in the studio taught me the importance of time management, and what true hard work and dedication looks like.
